     Four beaches at western Ohio's Grand Lake St. Marys have toxic-algae warning signs, with health officials recommending older people and young children avoid swimming and wadding in affected areas.  

     With the state's safety threshold for swimming set at 6 parts per billon, June 1 testing showed microcystin levels at Grand Lake showed 65-99 part ppb depending on the testing site. While Ohio has invested millions of dollars into algae control measures, some are calling for stricter measures.
