University of Michigan Receive 3$ Million to Study Algae

     University of Michigan researchers have received $3 million from the Erb Family Foundation to study how the Detroit River contributes to the Lake Erie algal blooms. The three year grant will help scientists measure the effectiveness of "green infrastructure" projects in the Detroit area, primarily focusing on nutrients like phosphorous and nitrogen, big contributors to algal blooms.
