As it gets deeper in the summer season, cyanobacterial (or blue-green algae) blooms will become a more common occurrence. And now four ponds in the New York state area have tested positive for high levels of cyanobacteria.

- Agawam Pond, Southampton
- Wickapogue Pond, Southampton
- Wainscott Pond, Wainscott
While a full list of blooms (and toxin levels) can be found here, officials are asking residents to not swim or wade into the waters and to keep pets and children away from the area.
