"Fight the Phrag" in New York

     "Fight the Phrag" began this month, an effort to remove the invasive phragmites that has crowded out Brooklyn's only lake. Some stands of the plant have reached 18 feet in height, making this no easy task, so local groups are asking for volunteers to pitch in. Those interested can sign up for the August 16 or August 23 session through the link below. Led by the Weekend Woodland Corps, it's a great way for locals to help clear the shorelines of this pesky invasive.
