Jesse Smith, fish and wildlife management major at Paul Smith’s College, has a passion for our most precious resource. And as a Watershed Steward with the Adirondack Watershed Institute, outreach at local recreation and boat-access areas is important to Jesse,  “Our goal is to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species, such as Eurasian watermilfoil and zebra mussels, by checking boats going in and out of some of the lakes in the park and by educating the public.”

Jesse, who hopes for a “job in the fisheries or invasive species field” upon graduating, says his interest in aquatic habitats began when he was little, “playing in a tributary to the Capoolong Creek.”
